(1) The Government of Nepal may establish a monitoring room for the purpose of keeping the children who have been detained on charges of criminal activities during the investigation period.
(2) A separate cell will be arranged in each district police office until a monitoring cell is established as per sub-section (1).
(3) Child psychologists and psychosocial support should be provided to the children who have been detained for investigation.
(4) If any member of the family of such children wants to stay together for the support of the children who will be kept in the observation room, the investigating officer may allow them to stay together as per the need and specify the time and conditions.
(5) Other arrangements related to the establishment, operation, management and monitoring of the surveillance room shall be as prescribed.
